About the event
Small Animal Barn Pick-up Entries & Awards
The Small Animal Barn continues to make improvements each year. Larger birds, such as geese and turkeys, will have permanent pens this year, and fancy pigeon breeds will have access to cage liners to protect their feathered feet. We will have plenty of room for exhibitors to showcase their furry and feathered friends. Please review the exhibitor guidelines below. If you would like to volunteer in the Small Animal Barn during the fair, please contact Brandi Reber @ 435-201-0423.
Rules
No hay, straw or grass will be allowed in the cages. Shavings will be provided for under hanging cages and in the bottom of turkey pens.
There is limited space available for waterfowl & turkeys. Entries are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Only registered 4-H members may enter their 4-H project in the 4-H class.
A maximum of $15 per person will be awarded. Awards will be distributed at animal pick-up. The animal owner will be responsible to feed their own livestock.
Any entries not removed after the Rodeo/Concert will be disposed of by the management. Prize money will not be awarded after 6:00pm.
Exhibitors are asked to bring feed and water dishes/bottles for their animals. Borrowed dishes must be cleaned prior to exhibit checkout and receiving prize money.
All judging will be according to The American Standards of Perfection for Rabbits, Pigeons, Chickens, Ducks, Geese and Turkeys.
No rabbits under the age of eight weeks will be judged or allowed to be sold.
If an owner wishes to sell any animal, that arrangement is solely between owner and buyer. Supervisor will not handle money or arrange sales.
Please be mindful of others and do not bring illness or disease into the barn. Any animal may be removed from the barn if they are exhibiting any signs of illness and owners will be asked to remove them from the barn immediately.
All exhibitors are asked to follow best biosecurity practices when taking their animals back home.
